Immoral Functions (of Cryptographic Mirth)
With Twitter’s seemingly inevitable demise, I figured now was as good a time as any to have another space to put thoughts to record. My personal and professional interests for years have primarily been (Theoretical) Computer Science, in particular Cryptography, and Socialism, in particular socialist political theory and republicanism and ongoing events on the left.
I have thoughts about each and hopefully they’re not all bad. Sometimes I may want to write an explainer on some TCS or political theory topic, recap a conference for non-experts, or just muse about why left cybernetics is a failed project and cryptocurrency is even more bullshit than you thought or honestly just some programming project I’m interested in.
Even if Twitter stays up, I am tired of threads and I’m hedging bets here with stuff like this:
As another hedge, you can find me and many others over at Mastodon, in particular socialism.social, and if you’re just here for math, recommend mathstodon.xyz.
Posts will be as frequent as I think of and draft things, probably not too often as I work full time as a software engineer right now. Post subjects will vary from politics and history to just some neat math (getting Latex in this thing looks like a pain…), something for everyone!
I’m not turning on paid subscriptions for now. Even if I ever do, all posts will be public. I will change this policy if I gain any amount of success.
Subscribe if interested and I leave you all with a link to fun article and ever relevant paper I may discuss in a future post.
